Rather than booking a large, expensive venue, the couple opted for a more personal and cost effective alternative. Nestled in a picturesque rural setting, their chosen village hall came complete with scenic outdoor space—perfect for a marquee setup and ideal for celebrating with close friends and family.
The 20ft wide x 40ft long (6m x 12m) marquee provided the perfect extension to the hall, giving guests space to mingle, dine, and dance in a relaxed yet elegant environment.
"Smaller venues like village halls are often overlooked," says Martyn from Kingsmead Marquees. "But with the right setup, they can be transformed into something truly magical, especially when you can make the most of the outdoor areas with a marquee."
With an increasing number of couples choosing meaningful over massive, village hall weddings are making a comeback. They offer flexibility, charm and a blank canvas when paired with a marquee that can be customised to suit any theme or weather plan.
This wedding is a perfect example of how less can be more. With thoughtful planning and creative use of space, a modest venue turned into a stunning celebration setting, proving you do not need a castle to have a fairy-tale day.
